15th ISMOCD Conference – 2025: Climate Change and the Growing Threat of Vector-Borne Diseases

The 15th Joint Conference of the Indian Society of Malaria & Other Communicable Diseases (ISMOCD) will take place from 31st January to 2nd February 2025 at ICMR-NIMR, Sector-8, Dwarka, New Delhi. This conference is being organized by ISMOCD and ICMR-NIMR in collaboration with NCDC, NCVBDC, and MCD Delhi. The central theme for this year's conference, "Climate Change: A Threat to Vector-Borne Diseases", highlights the crucial connection between shifting climate patterns and the increasing threat posed by vector-borne diseases (VBDs).
As the world grapples with the consequences of climate change, it is becoming evident that these changes have a significant impact on the spread and resurgence of diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya, Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), Kyasanur Forest Disease (KFD), and scrub typhus. This conference will provide a platform for experts to discuss how environmental, social, and ecological factors associated with climate change are influencing the control and elimination of these diseases. The discussions will aim to generate new strategies to overcome these emerging challenges.
